Between 1986 and 1990 Vassil Vassilev is a correspondent for the National Television and the National Radio for the region of West Europe, headquartered in Paris, France. There he establishes contacts with many western political and public leaders. He had meetings with François Mitterrand, Margaret Thatcher and François Fillon.

Vassil Vassilev begins his carrier as a journalist. He is a correspondent for the BTA (Bulgarian Telegraph Agency) for the Near East, headquartered in Beirut between 1978 and 1983. He authors hundreds of articles on the civil war in Lebanon, the Iranian revolution, the Iran-Iraq war, the Lebanon war during 1982 and other important events in the region. For his statue and accomplishments during the 1982 Lebanon war, Yasser Arafat presents him his personal handgun. He establishes personal contacts with many leaders in the Near and Middle East. During the same period he is awarded a number of national and journalistic distinctions.

Stiff competition by Liebherr, pressure by the government and a failed joint venture with the Chinese manufacturer Hayer in 2000 due to the numerous claims for parts of the property by recent restitutes, completely choke the development of any manufacturing activities.

The first duty-free gas stations open along the exit highway corridors from Bulgaria leading to Turkey, Serbia and Romania. Ivan Kostov, minister of finance under the government of Phillip Dimitrov at that time, signs the license for this type of trade, which up until this day remains the only grant of such license in the modern history of Bulgaria.

Vassilevi Brothers organizes import, sale and distribution of foreign press in Bulgaria. Amongst the first clients are the American embassy and the Sheraton Hotel in Sofia. The newspapers are delivered on the day of their issue, daily, via flights by “Austrian Airlines” from Vienna. Since the company abandoned this activity, even today in 2012, in Bulgaria one can no longer purchase a foreign newspaper that has been issued on the same date.

At the end of the 1950’s Panayot Vassilev creates, with the support of Todor Zhivkov, “Rhodopa” – the largest state trust in Bulgaria, which allowed Bulgaria to overcome the crisis in the agricultural sector and to become a net exporter of meat and dairy products. The formula, devised by Panayot Vassilev, relies on the private labor of the agricultural producer, which is the first breakthrough in the inefficient, soviet, agricultural economics model.

The assets of Vassilevi Brothers are nationalized. Much of the family property – the perfume factory, the sausage factory, two inns in Varna, land, real estate and gold – is seized. The family moves to Sofia in 1949 in order to avoid further repression.

In 1924 the brothers establish one of the first meat processing plants in Bulgaria and later equip it entirely with German machinery. Their retail store is located on Varna’s main street and is one of the richest meat shops at the time, delivering directly to the royal residence in Evksinograd and to most of the foreign ships docking at the Varna seaport.

Human Power is the first Bulgarian temporary employment agency, registered immediately after Bulgaria ratified convention 181 by the International Labor Organization (ILO) and right before the Bulgaria entered the European Union on 01.01.2007.

Besides within the national borders, Human Power seconds its workers also in Belgium, Greece, Italy and France and prepares to enter the labor markets in the Netherlands and Denmark in 2013.

Human Power recruits mainly from Bulgaria and Romania.

The company operates, maintains and rents out properties located mainly around the center of Sofia – offices, retail stores, warehouses and land with a total area of approximately 60,000 m2 and buildings space of 85,000 m2.
